About Us Bill Reaves Construction Co. has been building fine homes in the Sandhills since 1980. Bill started as a carpenter’s helper in 1977, working with new construction and renovations in the Durham and Chapel Hill area. He quickly realized that he loved the building industry and became very adept at many phases of the building processes, especially on the older homes in the Durham area. He acquired his contractor’s license in 1978 and started Bill Reaves Construction Company. In 1980 the opportunity to move back to the Sandhills came with the development of the Seven Lakes. Bill and Sue worked to establish Bill Reaves Construction in the area. During that time frame, Sue worked along with Bill on the job sites, gaining hands on experience in the field. Sue was licensed as a Residential Contractor in the early 80’s and together have built many homes, additions, light commercial and multi family projects throughout the Sandhills area. We specialize in “design-build”, a process which helps provide a strong working relationship with our clients. By creating the design with our clients, we are able to achieve a level of trust and understanding about their desires and lifestyle priorities. Bill handles much of the design work on the Soft Plan cad system, which enables us to produce quality plans in a very timely fashion for our clients.
